Revolutionary Change
At the beginning of the war, Serbia had occupied 1/3 of Croatia's territory. On August 4-7, Operation Storm had occurred. Due to this battle, Croatia had reclaimed most of the land they had lost to Serbia.

Efforts at Reform
There were many efforts at reform of past practices/policies such as Croatia's government. When Croatia was a part of Yugoslavia, they were a communist country, yet when they separated from Yugoslavia, they became a democratic government.

People's Reaction
The Serbians were devastated that they had lost a major battle in the Croatian Independence war. On the other hand, the Croatians had regained hope for winning their independence.

Ante Gotovina
Ante Gotovina was a lieutenant general in the Croatian army during the Croatian independence war. He was born on October 12, 1955 in Tkon, Croatia. He is most known for his primary role in the 1995 Operation Storm. In 2001, Ante Gotovina was indicted on a number of war crimes and also crimes against humanity charges for crimes he committed in 1995 during and also after the Operation Storm by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
